Renee Taylor Valentin
Mind Body Instructor
Biography

Renee grew up camping, kayaking, sailing, snorkeling and hiking with her family around the Olympic Peninsula and the Pacific Ocean.

After moving to Eugene in 1998, Renee began registering for yoga and fitness classes regularly which helped her find balance in her busy life of working full time while earning her undergraduate degree in biology from the UO.

Her passion for aquatics landed her in the SCUBA program at the UO where she earned her deep water, night diver, altitude, Nitrox, rescue, and eventually DiveMasters certifications.

While working in the Central Pacific on the remote wildlife refuge Palmyra Atoll in 2004, Renee rekindled her relationship with yoga through a set of Rodney Yee videos.

Her practice followed her back to the Pacific Northwest, where she went on to complete four different 200-hour teacher trainings over the course of the next 10 years. She is currently finishing her 500-hour training with Suzanne Davis, which Renee began in the fall of 2017. In 2015 Renee opened a hot yoga studio and assisted with the foundational development of a 200-hour and 500-hour yoga teacher training program.

Renee is passionate about yoga, watersports, backpacking, poetry, journaling, campfires, community, cooking, creative self-care lotion and tincture preparations, family, reading, singing, and life! One of her deepest heartfelt desires is to nurture and empower yoga teachers, so that in turn they can share and extend this brilliant practice to everyone who is curious.
